About Bicester Tyre and Exhausts

MICHELIN ALPIN
This new generation Cold Weather tyre is designed for city cars, small and medium size family cars and MPVs.

It brakes shorter in the wet - At least 5% difference when compared to Michelin Alpin A2. (1).
Lasts an extra winter - The new Michelin Alpin A3 lasts 40% more miles on average compared to its principal European competitors. (2)

Two New Technologies for Improved Cold Weather Performance

StabiliGrip

Exceptional mobility on snow
The tread pattern of the new Michelin Alpin A3 has a 47% higher sipe density*** than the average of competitor tyres, providing exceptional mobility on snowy roads.

Variable geometryBi-directional sipesIncreased stability at motorway speeds
In addition to the bi-directional sipes found on most Cold Weather tyres, Michelin research has further developed this type of sipe by including an element of variable geometry for improved stability.

Helio Compound

Improved braking and grip on wet roads
The rubber compound used in the new Alpin A3 tyre contains sunflower oil, a major innovation significantly improving the braking and lateral grip on wet surfaces, as well as its performance on snow and ice. This is achieved by better dissipation of energy in thetread pattern.

impressive mobility in snowImpressive Mobility on Snow...

  • The new Michelin Alpin A3 offers more grip when pulling away on snow, advancing up to 9% faster compared to competitors’ tyres*.
  • The bi-directional design and the variable geometry of the StabiliGrip sipes take you where others cannot go.

* On average compared to competitors’ tyres in the same category. Based on results from internal tests and tests carried Out fl 2005 by an independent test centre on tyres purchased on the open European
market. Acceleration test 0-30 km/h.

Safety From the First to the Last Mile...

  • When the new Alpin A3 has reached the 4mm snow wear indicator, its sipe density is 75% greater than that of its premium competitors*** - and still greater than its main competitor when new! This provides optimum performance on snow, wet roads and ice during the life of the tyre.

  • Lasts an extra Winter. The new Michelin Alpin A3 lasts 40% more miles on average compared to its principal European competitors****.
  • Low levels of rolling resistance for reduced fuel consumption... and less fuel consumption means greater respect for the environment.
